Hanna-Leena Alakomi
Hanna-Leena Alakomi works at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd in the area of industrial biotechnology and food solutions as Principal scientist and research team leader of the Process Microbiology and Food safety team. She has 25 years of experience in applied microbiology with an educational background in food sciences and food microbiology (Ph.D., food sciences, University of Helsinki, 2007). Her work has focused on food safety, control of harmful microbes, and production technology of probiotic bacteria. She is interested in the versatile role microbes play in the ecosystem and how they affect our daily life, health, and wellbeing. She is an IPMA C certified project manager and has been working as a project manager in jointly funded and contract-based R&D projects. She has 52 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Mirva Lampinen
Mirva Lampinen works as Co-Creation Manager at VTT in the research area Industrial biotechnology and food solutions. She has experienced an area of business development by working several years in the food industry prior to joining VTT in 2018. In the industry, she worked various expert and development manager roles. At VTT she runs Food and Beyond innovation ecosystem as well as is part of the startup world by being hub leader on the EIT FAN Helsinki startup accelerator program. She received her degree in Master of Health Science (Nutrition) from the University of Eastern Finland in 2007.
